Olympic Cycling BMX Freestyle burst onto the Olympic scene at the Summer Games 2020, introducing a thrilling discipline where riders conquer ramps and obstacles with acrobatic flair. This dynamic sport marries creativity, athleticism, and daring stunts, captivating audiences through high-flying action and artistic expression.

BMX Freestyle made its initial mark at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, offering a riveting spectacle that showcased the sport's urban appeal and potential to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The competition unfolds in two rounds: a seeding round followed by the final. Each cyclist tackles two 60-second runs in both rounds, showcasing their skills. Judges assign scores between 0.00 and 99.99, evaluating the rider's execution and the difficulty of their run. In the seeding round, the averaged scores determine the start order for the final, providing an edge to later riders. The final counts only the better score from the two runs.

Looking ahead, the excitement of Cycling BMX Freestyle continues at Paris 2024, slated for July 30th and 31st, promising more breathtaking displays of aerial prowess and artistic talent on the Olympic stage.
