Paris 2024

The Summer Games 2024, officially titled the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, also known as Paris 2024. Scheduled to unfold from July 26 to August 11, 2024, this international multi-sport extravaganza is set to take centre stage in Paris, with additional events spanning 16 cities across Metropolitan France and one in the French overseas territory of Tahiti. Paris clinched the coveted hosting rights at the 131st IOC Session in Lima, Peru, on September 13, 2017. With only Paris and Los Angeles remaining contenders due to several withdrawals, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) devised a unique plan to simultaneously award both cities the 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympics.

Building on its rich Olympic history, Paris, having previously hosted the Olympics 1900 and Olympic 1924, is poised to become the second city to host the Summer Olympics three times, following in the footsteps of London (1908, 1948, and 2012). The Olympic 2024 Games hold special significance as they mark the centenary of the Paris Olympic Games of 1924, making it the sixth Olympic Games hosted by France.
