Summer Olympics - Paris Olympic 2024

Surfing rode the waves of excitement during its Olympic premiere at the Tokyo Olympic 2020 Games, transforming Tsurigasaki Surfing Beach into a vibrant arena for both men's and women's events. Surfers from across the globe carved their marks on the waves, infusing the Games with youthful energy.

Renowned wave riders like Carissa Moore from the United States, Italo Ferreira from Brazil, and Owen Wright from Australia made waves in the debut Olympic Surfing competition. Their blend of technical finesse, innovation, and personal style painted a thrilling canvas for spectators.

Carissa Moore etched her name in history, securing the inaugural Olympic gold medal in women's surfing. Italo Ferreira mirrored her success, clinching gold in the men's event, elevating the thrill and intensity of the sport.

As Surfing solidifies its place in the Olympic lineup, forthcoming editions, including the Paris 2024 Games, anticipate a surge in talent and global enthusiasm for this visually captivating water sport.

Surfing at the Paris 2024 Summer Games Olympics is scheduled to unfold from July 27 to August 5, 2024, at Teahupo'o Reef Pass, Tahiti, French Polynesia. Marking a departure from tradition, this event will hold the record for the farthest medal competition staged outside the host city. The roster size will expand to accommodate 48 surfers (24 for each gender) in the shortboard events, presenting an even more exhilarating and competitive stage than seen in Tokyo 2020.
