The Turkiye Euro Cup team is set to make its sixth appearance in the UEFA European Championships in 2024, with a seventh appearance confirmed for Euro Cup 2032 as co-hosts. Their journey began in the Euro Cup 1996, marking the first finals they qualified for. The pinnacle of their European performance came in 2008 when they reached the semi-finals, clinching a memorable victory against Croatia in the quarterfinals through penalties.

The Euro Cup 2008 showcased Türkiye’s resilience and remarkable performances. Despite an initial setback with a loss to Portugal, they mounted an incredible comeback against Switzerland and secured a crucial win over the Czech Republic in the group stage. Their journey continued with thrilling victories against Croatia in the quarterfinals, ultimately decided by penalties. Although the dream ended with a close defeat to Germany in the semi-finals, Turkiye left an indelible mark with their impressive run.

In Euro Cup 2016, Turkiye faced tough competition in Group D, securing a victory against the Czech Republic but falling short with losses to Croatia and Spain, leading to elimination in the group stage.

Euro Cup 2020 brought further challenges for Turkiye in Group A, with defeats against Italy and Wales and a draw against Switzerland. The team finished last in their group, unable to progress beyond the group stage.

Looking ahead to UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying, Group D featured Turkiye alongside Armenia, Croatia, Latvia, and Wales. The teams engaged in home-and-away round-robin matches, and Turkiye and Croatia emerged as the top two teams, securing direct qualification for the final Euro 2024 tournament in Germany. This sets the stage for Turkiye to showcase their resilience and pursue new heights in the upcoming European Championship.
